Frequently Asked Questions

What does a professional organizer do?

Professional organizers provide a number of services from decluttering closets, pantries, and playrooms to organizing a move and creating systems of productivity to help save you time and money.

Jacksonville Organizers’ ultimate goal is to help you simplify your life and create functional spaces that you love and are easy to maintain.  We will create systems that work for you and your lifestyle and that you enjoy.

What happens during the initial consultation?

The first step to working with us is an in-home consultation. During this initial meeting, we will look at your space and discuss your goals, timeline, and budget for the project. We will also snap a few “before” pictures for our own reference, and measure your space.

Since our services are tailored to you and your unique situation, we want to get a good feel for you, your space, and what is working and not working for you so we can make personalized recommendations and create a plan together. This consultation is about one hour, and you do not need to do anything to prepare. To schedule this consultation, simply fill out our form, and we will contact you to schedule.

How involved do I need to be in the process?

You can be as involved as you prefer! The most involvement your lead organizer will need from you is during the sorting & purging process. Once that process is completed, your lead organizer can do the work with little to no involvement from you, unless you would like to be a part of the entire process.

What preparation is needed before my session?

Nothing at all!

Will I be able to maintain the system after Jacksonville Organizer leaves?

Our services go beyond organizing the physical items. We take the time to develop personalized systems that will work for you and your family long-term.

Our goal at the end of the project is to leave you with a beautifully organized space that you can maintain on your own. If you are too busy to maintain the space on your own or would like us to come in to refresh the space, we offer maintenance plans!

Will the final result fit the style of my home?

Aesthetics are an important detail! However, “Pinterest-perfect” expectations can be unrealistic. Our organizers will do their absolute best to match your home’s look & style, However, our #1 priority is to create a space that is functional & maintainable.

How many hours will it take to organize?

The amount of time it will take us depends on a few things. Keep in mind every situation is different and we are trained organizers to help the process move along as quickly as we can.

  • How much stuff you would like us to organize?

  • How quickly you can make decisions about what to keep and what to donate.

What if I need to reschedule my appointment?

You can call your lead organizer anytime if you are needing to reschedule your appointment. We ask that you reach out within 2 business days prior to your scheduled appointment if you need to make any changes to the time/day.

What if I feel embarrassed about my space?

We don’t want you to feel embarrassed! Professional organizers don’t judge — they’re here to help you. All services provided by Jacksonville Organizer are confidential. We may take pictures of your project, however, no names will be released and people will not be included in the photos.

You can feel confident that you can trust our team of organizers with your complete project. We also abide by the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals Code of Ethics. This Code of Ethics is a set of principles to provide guidelines for our professional conduct with our clients, colleagues, and community.

How are services billed?

Jacksonville Organizer charges by the hour and we have a four-hour minimum. Our team of organizers has different rates depending on their title: owner, lead, assistant, etc…

How much do your services cost?

We like to view the cost of our services as an investment in the way you choose to live an organized life. The cost of each project varies based on the amount of things you have that need organized and how quickly our clients decide what to keep, donate, or discard. Every situation is unique and we will take your budget into consideration when we visit for your consultation.

Will I need to purchase any supplies before my organizing session?

Many times we are able to take advantage of your existing storage solutions to create a better system. We understand that not everyone has the budget to install new systems in their homes. An initial consultation is the best way for us to see what and how things need to change.

Many people have difficulties organizing because they purchase organizational items before they sort and purge. Understanding your needs before making purchases will save you time and money. Once we decide what your needs are, Jacksonville Organizer will purchase supplies while keeping your budget in mind!

What makes Jacksonville Organizer unique?

For starters, we have 30+ years experience working with every type of client and project. We have worked on high-end luxury projects as well as hoarding projects. Our experienced team all have a lot of compassion, skill, and a helpful heart.

Every one of us truly cares and wants the best for our clients. We have a large array of skills that we bring to every client’s project. For example, the first thing we review is the layout and functionality of each space. We then create highly functioning zones in each area of the home or office.

Our favorite part of every project is when we style their new space! This includes repurposing furniture, accessories, etc. into different areas of their home.

We love making suggestions that will make an impact and reflect the client’s lifestyle. It’s a win-win! It’s sometimes life-changing for our clients, and we love what we do!

How far in advance do I need to schedule my appointment?

Because we have a team of organizers, we can usually start your project within a few weeks of your first call. During busy periods, we may be booked out 4-6 weeks in advance, however, we do have a waiting list that we refer to for cancellations.
